Imagine this...

Imagine a service that reminds you to upload photos on facebook whenever you have returned from a trip - because you always do that. What if Facebook can automatically inform you whenever there is an event of your interest coming up soon - all on its own.  Will it be cool if you are able to set reminders on events/actions rather than time - for eg: remind me whenever person X reads a book. To make it more interesting, imagine that it does all of this without you explicitly setting a reminder.

Wont it be super cool if Facebook is able to understand how your interests are changing with time - like, you have been using Grooveshark but you have switched to Spotify recently. Or it understands that you have been moving across cities and customizes your advertisements accordingly. Even better, it can analyze your activities and recognize whom you follow - commenting on posts, photos etc. It would also be cool, if it automatically tells you what happened on last New Years party when someone wished you Happy New year this time around - bringing back old memories.

One might argue that the web already understands our activities and interests. Sure it does, but it doesn't understand or track "changes" in our behavior/interests. It does understand events like "Birthdays" but it doesn't understand the semantics behind, which means that it cannot understand events that haven't been hardwired into it - like a local village festival.

These are just some possibilities and some interesting features that we will probably see in the near future. One just has to think smarter and there are numerous such possibilities.
